Surviving the PhD

I arrived at this beautiful land as claimed by many people and felt excited about landing in another country which I have longed to come. Last time I used to travel alone to other foreign countries but this time I am with my kids accompanied by my nephew. I am going to be here for another 3 years, hopefully, if everything goes as planned. However, before I started my life in this land, I already encountered the unpleasant moment. My nephew was being interrogated by the immigration at the airport. He was asked the reason of him being here, and I was shocked to see how difficult it is to enter this land, a lot of suspicious even though he told the officer that he was here as a tourist. Yes, I know they suspect that my nephew will be my babysitter. Hmmm.....to visit and at the same time to help me settle down were questioned as if he was a terrorist. Well, people now live in fear, funny thinking about it. Anyway, the trauma was over and we missed the local flight. Luckily we were transferred to the next flight free of charge, or else I would claim the insurance.
